Steven Jay Lynn

Steven Jay Lynn is a Distinguished Professor of Psychology at the State University of New York at Binghamton and the director of the Psychological Clinic. He is a licensed psychologist in independent practice and a diplomate in both clinical and forensic psychology. Since 1979, the Laboratory of Consciousness and Cognition he directs has been one of the most active laboratories in the world in investigating hypnotic phenomena from a scientific perspective. Professor Lynn has published more than 270 articles, books, and book chapters, with more than 150 publications on the topic of hypnosis and clinical applications of hypnotic methods. He is a past President of the American Psychological Association’s Division of Psychological Hypnosis, and has served on eleven editorial boards, including the Journal of Abnormal Psychology.

Lynn Lyons

Lynn Lyons has been a psychotherapist for 20 years, and specialises in the treatment of anxious children and their parents. In addition to her private practice, she is a consultant with several school districts and private schools, helping them to address anxiety in the classroom, bullying, school refusal, and social skills. Ms Lynn is sponsored by professional organisations and schools, offering workshops to mental health professionals, teachers, school nurses, and parents. She is known for her focus on providing concrete, usable skills. Ms Lynn received her BA from Williams College in 1987 and her MSW from Boston University in 1990.

Michael D Yapko

Michael D Yapko, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist and marriage and family therapist residing in Fallbrook, California. He is internationally recognised for his work in clinical applications of hypnosis, treating depression, and developing strategic, outcome-focused psychotherapies. Dr. Yapko is the author of numerous books, book chapters, and articles on the subjects of hypnosis, depression, and the use of strategic psychotherapies. He is a recipient of The Milton H. Erickson Lifetime Achievement Award (2007), twice a recipient of the Arthur Shapiro Award for the “best book of the year on hypnosis” from the Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis for Treating Depression with Hypnosis (2001) and Hypnosis and Treating Depression (2006), and the 2003 Pierre Janet Award for Clinical Excellence from the International Society of Hypnosis, a lifetime achievement award honouring his many contributions to the field.
