Just Leave Daddy Be is Dutch documentary about twelve year old Melvin, whose stepfather Hans has a borderline personality disorder. During almost two years director Debbie Kleijn filmed the family in their daily struggle to cope with the problems of Hans. The documentary unravels the vulnerability of in children when one of the parents has a mental illness. While the adults are entangled in their own problems, the young Melvin keeps his worries to himself.
