The World Council of Enterostomal Therapists
19th Biennial Congress

Hosted by:
Australian Association of
Stomal Therapy Nurses

INVITATION from the convenor

It is with great pleasure I invite you to Adelaide, South Australia for the 19th Biennial World Council of Enterostomal Therapists Congress from 19th to 23rd April 2012 at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

Our theme “Weaving Culture, Education and Technology into a Brilliant Blend” is about bringing nurses together, sharing experiences, learning new techniques and celebrating our unique differences.

We have invited world class speakers in Ostomy, Wound and Continence management and have planned our program specifically to include Paediatric sessions throughout the Congress.

The scientific program is not to be missed! Apart from our focus on ostomy, wound and continence management issues, we have extended our scope to include burns management, nursing the bariatric patient, and many professional development subjects.

For those with interests across ostomy, wound and continence we have organised a unique opportunity on Saturday 21st April. Delegates will have access to 4 concurrent streams of Gastroenterology, Vascular, Urology and Dermatology nursing. The workshops within each stream are clinically focused, ensuring you will learn something new to take back to the work place.

Adelaide is a beautiful city with exceptional food and wine, grand buildings, parklands on all sides with the River Torrens running right through the centre. Spend a little more time in South Australia and explore the Outback, Kangaroo Island, or enjoy the food and wine at the many wineries just a few hours drive from the city.

Looking forward to seeing you Down Under.

On behalf of the Organising Committee,

Fiona Bolton
Congress Convenor

Dear WCET members and health care professionals,

It is with much pleasure and great excitement that I invite you to attend the 19th WCET Biennial Congress to be held in Adelaide, Australia, April 19th to 23rd 2012.

The organising committee has been working intensively to develop a brilliant program with superior quality scientific sessions that I am sure will meet all your needs. Fiona Bolton and her team also want you to discover the allure of the land down under, Australia.

The WCET Congress is unlike any other meeting you will ever attend. If you have never been to a WCET Congress, you will get expert knowledge from international key opinion leaders in the domain of ostomy, wound and continence care. You will also get the unique opportunity to network with colleagues from around the world in educational and social settings. It is a one of a kind event and what makes the WCET Congress unlike any other! As usual, you will also be able to meet with our industry partners and learn about the latest product innovations to improve the quality care of our patients.

Last but not least, attending this meeting will give you the chance to learn more about the WCET by visiting our booth, meeting the board members and exploring how you can contribute to the growth of the WCET. Be sure to attend the General meeting that will be held Sunday April 22nd, another great opportunity to learn more about our organisation.
