Iron deficiency is one of the most common nutritional deficiencies in Australia and remains one of the most underdiagnosed conditions in general practice.
Learning outcomes:
- Describe the diagnosis of iron deficiency based on laboratory testing
- Compare the indications for the use of intravenous iron infusion versus oral iron supplements
- Accurately administer intravenous iron infusion to ensure patient safety
