The aim of this education is to help all emergency medicine disciplines to gain a greater understanding of emergency skills in rural areas:

  • Differentiate clinical findings distinguishing moderate, severe and life threatening respiratory distress
  • Determine the immediate management of the adult with serious or life threatening respiratory distress
  • Analyse the differential diagnosis and emergency management of acute respiratory distress
  • Differentiate the roles of CPAP/BiPAP and high flow humidified nasal prong therapy in the management of severe respiratory distress
  • Use medical simulation equipment to develop new skills relating to emergency patient care for Airway Emergencies
