The aim of this education is to help all emergency medicine disciplines to gain a greater understanding of emergency skills in rural areas:

  • Differentiate clinical findings distinguishing moderate, severe and life threatening respiratory distress
  • Determine the immediate management of the adult with serious or life threatening respiratory distress
  • Analyse the differential diagnosis and emergency management of acute respiratory distress
  • Differentiate the roles of CPAP/BiPAP and high flow humidified nasal prong therapy in the management of severe respiratory distress
  • .Use medical simulation equipment to develop new skills relating to emergency patient care for Airway Emergencies

This full day workshop is aimed at all General Practitioners, Medical Professionals, Paramedics and Nursing staff working within an Emergency Care Setting in a rural or regional hospital in South Australia.
