In this education session with Prof Dr Margie Sharpe of Dizziness & Balance Disorders Centre, learn how to assess a dizzy patient systematically for vestibular and non-vestibular dizziness and applying multi-disciplinary team management for better outcomes.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

• Discuss the complexities of the dizzy patient and the need for a multi-disciplinary team approach.
• Assess psychological and physical burden of dizziness and vestibular disorders from the patient’s perspective.
• Assess a dizzy patient thoroughly and systematically to determine if they have vestibular disorder and/or non-vestibular dizziness.
• Identify causes of non-vestibular dizziness and discuss corresponding scope of practice for general practitioners, medical specialists and physiotherapists.
• Summarise the available referral pathways for patients to the appropriate health practitioner(s).
