This is session will be held at Victor Harbor

The program is funded jointly by the NAHLN and SAPMEA EMET Programs
There is no cost to attend the evening and dinner will be included.
The workshops are open to all Medical officers, General Practitioners, Nurses and Paramedics working in Emergency Care settings

Each workshop is RACGP/ACRRM accredited and participants receive an attendance certificate for 3 hours of CPD. Additional CPD hours may be obtained with completion of the evening's online prelearning.

Topic : Cardiac Emergencies (same topic presented at 4 locations)

The evening will focus on the topics of Acute chest pain and Syncope.
A future workshop will focus on the topic of Arrhythmias.

ECG Workshop : A half day afternoon workshop on "Basic skills in ECG interpretation" is available at Victor Harbor (10 August) and Barossa Valley (August 23rd) prior to the EMET evening on Cardiac Emergencies.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Differentiate the clinical findings and role of risk stratification in the assessment of acute chest pain
  2. Prioritise the immediate management of the adult with Acute Coronary Syndrome
  3. Summarise the assessment, differential diagnosis and red flags in the patient presenting with Syncope
  4. Discriminate ECG findings indicative of the risk for Cardiac syncope
