General Practitioners, Medical Officers, Nurses and Paramedics working in Emergency Care settings are invited to attend this interactive full day workshop delivered through large group sessions, skills station training and simulation training.

This workshop will focus on major trauma patient scenarios and examine acute management in regional and rural settings.

Learning outcomes: 

  • Undertake a systematic primary assessment to detect and manage life threats in cases of major trauma
  • Assess and manage hypotension & haemorrhage in trauma
  • Assess and manage chest injuries
  • Perform procedures required to manage critical situations such as chest decompression, pelvic binder application, vascular access including EZ-IO
