Medical officers, General Practitioners, Nurses and Paramedics working in Emergency Care settings are invited to attend this interactive full day workshop delivered through large group sessions, skills station training and simulation training.
This workshop will focus on the patient with major trauma and examine acute management in regional and rural settings.
This workshop has been accredited by RACGP and ACRRM and is eligible for the Rural Procedural Grants Program. Participants will receive a statement of attendance for 6.5 hours of CPD.
Learning outcomes:
1. Undertake a systematic primary assessment to detect and manage life threats in cases of major trauma
2. Assess and manage hypotension & haemorrhage in trauma
3. Assess and manage chest injuries
4. Perform procedures required to manage critical situations including: chest drains, pelvic binder application and vascular access including EZ-IO
