The program is funded by SAPMEA as part of the ACEM EMET Program. There is no cost to attend the evening and dinner will be provided.

Clinical Lead for the program is Dr Peter Stuart, Director of Clinical Training for the BHFLHN.

Medical officers, General Practitioners, Nurses and Paramedics working in Emergency Care settings are welcome to attend the evening workshops. Registration is required and as numbers for each session are limited please book early to avoid disappointment.

Each workshop is RACGP/ACRRM accredited and participants receive an attendance certificate for 3.5 hours of CPD.

Cardiac Arrhythmia Emergencies

This workshop covers the recognition and emergency management of cardiac arrhythmias and will explore how to approach ECG interpretation of arrhythmias and the pharmacological and electrical management of serious / life threatening arrhythmias

Course Learning Outcomes

1. Prioritise the immediate assessment priorities for the patient presenting with an acute cardiac arrhythmia

2. Differentiate the ECG findings for supraventricular and ventricular tachyarrhythmias

3. Discriminate differential diagnosis and ECG findings for brady-arrhythmias

4. Summarise the differential diagnosis and emergency management of the patient presenting acute cardiac arrhythmia
