Medical officers, General Practitioners, Nurses, Paramedics and all Medical Professionals working in a South Australian rural or regional emergency care setting are invited to attend this interactive, clinical case scenario-based workshop.

This workshop will explore the management of patients with major trauma and burns, including immediate assessment and resuscitation of patients facing life-threatening haemorrhage from trauma or burns. Additionally, potential diagnoses and emergency management strategies for patients with major chest trauma commonly encountered in clinical practice will be covered.

Learning outcomes:

  • Differentiate the clinical presentation, life threats, stabilisation and investigation of the patient presenting with major trauma/burns
  • Discriminate the procedure for immediate assessment and resuscitation of the patient with life threatening haemorrhage from major trauma/burns
  • Summarise the differential diagnoses and emergency management for the patient with major chest trauma
  • Contrast the options for the emergency management of the patient with major burns

    Accreditation: This workshop is pending accreditation with RACGP and ACRRM. Participants will receive a statement of attendance for 3.5 hours of CPD (3 hours Reviewing Performance, 0.5 hours Educational Activities).

    The workshop is FREE to attend and catering will be provided.
