This workshop will provide attendees with knowledge and information on the latest in wound care techniques and treatments for people with hard to heal wounds. 

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

  • Recognise different types of commonly occurring wounds in Community, General Practice, Aged Care and Acute settings.
  • Discuss biofilm occurrence as a key factor that can affect wound healing.
  • Summarise importance of appropriate dressings categories for different types of wounds.
  • Analyse compression methods & products for people with lower limb ulcers
  • Describe the value of ceramide containing moisturisers for fragile or inflamed skin
