The aim of this workshop is to outline an efficient and careful approach to the assessment and management of people with painful musculoskeletal lower back conditions seen in general practice. By the end of this activity, participants will be able to:
Outline clinical reasoning skills utilised in the diagnosis of lower back complaints.
Apply a systematic approach to the management and rehabilitation of a person with chronic back pain.
Evaluate appropriate imaging investigations for patients when warranted.
Identifying significant barriers to rehabilitation and how to work with the person to achieve a safe, sustainable return to work.
